What We’re About
TennSight is a comprehensive voter insight and engagement resource, provided free of charge by the Beacon Center of Tennessee. Built around the Beacon Poll, TennSight offers public opinion insights, issue commentary, action centers, and more. The Beacon Poll is the most accurate and transparent statewide poll in Tennessee. At Beacon, we believe in an informed electorate, which is why we’ve created this expanded resource to inform Tennesseans of the most pressing issues affecting our state, where voters stand on them, and a way to speak directly to lawmakers about how these issues impact our daily lives.
Methodology of the Beacon Poll
The Beacon Poll, a quarterly online survey of 1,200 registered voters in Tennessee, is conducted by Targoz Market Research. Only participants who passed data-quality checks are included and compensated. The sample is stratified by key demographics and geography, and the final results are weighted by demographics, party, geography, and relevant behavioral measures to ensure an accurate reflection of the state’s electorate. The poll has an estimated margin of error of ±2.77%. Because of weighting and rounding, totals may not always equal exactly 100%.
